Scott Good
Scott Good is the Regional Technical Director, North America for Uptime Institute Professional Services, facilitating prospective engagements and delivering Tier Topology and Facilities Certifications to contracted clients.
Good has been in the data center industry for over 30 years and has been involved in the development of data center programs for enterprise clients globally. He has been involved in the execution of Tier programs in alignment with Uptime and was one of the first to be involved in the creation of the original Tier IV facilities. Good developed and executed a systematic approach to commissioning these facilities and the processes he created are used by the industry to this day.
Through various positions, he has been involved in servicing data center clientele which has provided Good experience in developing data center facilities from concept through operation for both infrastructure and IT. This has included programs involving the ground up reorganization of data center facilities operations for major financial organizations, to development and implementation of new IT solutions involving sustainable manufacturing.
With respect to his experiences in forms of leading-edge solutions for the data center industry, Good has been involved in the validation of new products through the Uptime Tier Ready program and has published white papers to support his findings. Good was part in filing for a patent of warm water-cooling solutions used in conjunction with a closed loop cooling solution.
Good was directly involved in developing the original outline for the creation of LEED standards for data centers as well as the criteria used in the adoption of measurements to be taken in the EPA’s original study of power usage for data centers. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Rutgers University and is certified PMP, LEED, and Six Sigma Green Belt.
